ATOPIC DERMATITIS - ECZEMA TREATMENT

Atopic Dermatitis is a skin condition that causes intense itching and a red, raised rash. Otherwise known as Eczema. In severe cases, the rash develops fluid or puss filed blisters. Attacks of the rash often occur after exposure to something that irritates the skin.

Atopic dermatitis can occur in teenagers and adults but is most common in babies and children. Most children out grow atopic dermatitis, but they may develop allergies such as hay fever or asthma.

Many Eczema patents have allergies and should avoid certain foods such as ( cows milk, eggs wheat flour and nuts ) they should avoid eating too much red meat. For extreme cases of eczema, your Doctor may prescribe therapy using ultraviolet light, particularly in children.

Patients may also benefit from a daily dose of zinc supplement, as zinc helps the body metabolize The fatty acids. Your doctor may also recommend taking vitamin A, also found in cod-liver oil, which is essential for the repair and renewal of the skin. To avoid a risk of an over dose particularly with fat-soluble vitamins, ask your doctor to monitor your progress.
